Day 3: Albuquerque, NM–>Amarillo, TX–>Oklahoma City, OK
// March 22nd, 2009 // Travel Blog
I’m sitting in here, writing in my king-size bed in my hotel room at the Ramada Inn. I must admit, I’m a little tired and the thought of sleeping in is incredibly alluring but I’m more excited to hit the road again.
While on this trip, I will visit 7 states that I’ve never been to before. Unfortunately, all I have seen of New Mexico thus far has been at night but that will soon change.
Yesterday I visited MLK Streets in Los Angeles and Phoenix, AZ. I was surprised to find both streets were in predominately Hispanic neighborhoods. Martin Luther King Jr. Circle is a tiny cul-de-sac. There were only six homes on this small block, two of which were recently foreclosed.
I’m now on my way to Albuquerque, a city that is nearly impossible for me to spell correctly but I heard it was pretty cool. On my way to Oklahoma City, I’m going to stop by Amarillo, TX. This will be the first time I’m in Texas other than the Dallas Fort-Worth Airport. I heard that everything is big in Texas so I hope it delivers on that promise.

Hi Honey, thanks for the update. Your Aunt Pat and I have been staying in touch via Twitter. Glad to hear that you rested, please make certain that it’s enough as you have quite a distance ahead of you. I have only spent a short time in Texas, a few days, but have heard that it seems as though you will never get through it while traveling via car. Take care. Much love. Mom
